Question about fuel additive
I have an 02' Polaris 700 edge, that I had gotten back in November. The gas that was in there was bad so after a few start-ups it was dead. Syphoned it out & bought new fuel and it was fine. It has been running great so far, but before I take any trips up North I would to throw something in the gas tank to kind of clean up the fuel system, Carbs etc. I am really not that confident yet in taking the carbs apart and messing with them when I could be taking a trip any week now. How about Sea Foam? I do have de-icer in my gas, is it bad to add any cleaning agents? Any input would be great!

I use Sea Foam in every tank. it works great to only help PREVENT the carbs and fuel line from getting dirty. (although i still clean them yearly for good measure.)

Cleaning is very important, a parialy blocked jet can melt down an engine! Seafoam is good stuff just read the instructions!

I personally wouldn't add anything to my fuel. 2-strokes are very pickey about what you run through them. You could really damage the engine. Isopropanyl is the only de-icer you should use in a 2-stroke.

another vote for SeaFoam, great product. It may not clean a dirty carb, but it will keep a clean one spotless!

sea foam or PJ1 octane boost/gas stabilizer here. I also disagree with iso.

With most fuels being oxygenated and containing 10 percent alcohol, adding more is wasted money. If the gas is 100% gas, it's a good thing to keep the water gremlins at bay...

Thanks for the advice guys. Does sea foam act as a de-icer? I have iso. in there right now just to prevent any iceing. I had always thought sea foam was more of a fuel system cleaner that you should only use once in a while. A friend of mine who is mechcanic by trade mentioned that sea foam is good but that tank of gas you add it to won't last as long and your engine runs hotter than normal. Can seafoam be added to a tank that already has Iso in it? Like always I appreciate the advice from you experts! thanks.

A guy told me that running gas-line antifreeze was hard on the fuel line and the float valves because the alcohol shrinks the neoprene and rubber. Is this true? He kinda overreacts to some things so i dont always know.

Thats why your not supposed to run "heet" in your sleds.
It eats the seals.
