Should I bother to bring the sleds on our trip to Brainerd, MN

Hey everybody, well my family and I are going to Brainerd, MN for our waterpark hotel and sledding trip starting this Sunday 1/20. Of course when we booked the hotel there was lots of snow around but now it sounds like it might be a waste to haul the sleds with. Has anybody seen the the Brainerd trails recently? I hear they are in rough shape but everybody's idea of rough is different. If anybody has some first hand knowledge of the conditions please suggest if we just make this a waterpark only trip. We would be bringing my ZR 600 and my wifes Ski Doo Grand touring hauling our 3 year old and a 6 year old boys. I am pretty bummed about the snow situation.

Thanks,
-Jason

I was ther last weekend. When it was warm.

The trails looked really beat, since they have a ton of traffic. I assume there worse now. Plus its going to be a high of -10 thats effin cold on a sled.

You could bring them, but the trails wont be the best, maybe hit the lakes? riding is still fun no matter what.

If you are staying at one of the hotels in Baxter, you might want to keep an eye on the conditions as you get close. I have heard that the ditches along HWY 371 south of Brainerd are pretty good. The lakes are tough...we had too much snow too early, so the lakes ended up with a LOT of slush on the ice. The early snowmobile traffic left a lot of ridges that froze like little mountain ranges. But then, with the kids along, you probably won't be hot doggin' too much.
