carb vacuum cap

I was about to go and try to sync my carbs but i cant find the spot to hook it up to. On my XLT theres a brass nipple with a cap on the side of the carb that connects to the boot and the engine. but on my 89 indy trail its just a hole and am not sure if that is the spot i hook it up to. I cant really see through the hole without taking the carbs off but im thinking if it is open it needs to be plugged. Thx for taking a look.

Those are primer connection nipples that are not used.
