Transporting Fuel
I'm wondering..... what is the limit of 5 gallon gasoline containers aloud to be transported at one time in a pick-up truck? Anybody know? However many it would be, I'm positive that they need to be secured somehow. Thanks

Maybe MN is differnt, i have never heard of a limit or of them needing to be secured.
I just throw them in make sure they wont tip over and take off....
I'd call your local authority and ask them they should know.

I've never heard of a limit either...I've traveled with 6 cans in the bed to the cabin which is about a 6 hour trip. I ran a strap through the handles and made sure they wouldn't move and off I went.

We used to carry drums of methanol when we were Kart racing. That included crossing Canadian/US borders when we went to Mosport or Watkins Glen. Never had a problem back then ....wouldn't want to try that today!!

I'll only be driving through Ohio and Michigan.I'd like to try to take 30 gallons of gas to da UP with us. Gas is pretty expensive up near Pine Stump. Not that I don't want to help the locals out but I need to help myself out a little bit..

I have never heard of a limit! Around here the farmers all have fuel tanks in the bed of there trucks, 250 gallons!! I myself carry 4 15 gallon drums on board! I perfer to get 93 Octane from the truck stop that has individual hoses for each grade of fuel, no deluting, no alcohal!

It's only regulated if you need to be DOT inspected (over 10000 gvw). Then you need to placarded
