With the belt off and the back of the sled in the air does the track move freely?

Yes take the belt off and put the sled up on a stand so the track is in the air you should be able to spin the track by hand.

What side of the belt was getting the wear? Engine side? Bottom?

I had the same thing with a broken lower motor mount and a bad torque stop. Motor was twisting under heavy load

Next thing I would do is check the clutch alignment or the possibility of a broken motor mount.

Normally your alignment won't go astray unless you do something to make it misalign. Check the mounts real good. Make sure you still have all four bolts securing the aluminum mounting plate to the bulkhead. If those are all still there then firmly try to shake the engine to see if there is play betweeen the mounting plate and the engine. There are four bolts that bolt the engine to the mounting plate. Check the torque arm that is located to the rear of the primary clutch. It should be "snug" against the flat surface on the casing with a rubber button. Do not over tighten, just snug. If all else fails, use a good belt, fire it up outside on the ground and as you tap the throttle watch for the engine to twist. I am leaning towards the broke mount or broken/missing bolt.

Jag hit it right on the head. REVs are non adjustable for alignment, so something has to be wrong for the belt to wear like that.

Here are some tips for checking out less obvious things

Check your front-suspension/A-Arm alignment.. Could be that you have hit something with enough force to SLIGHTLY bend the chassie itself.. You dont nessesarely feel a big thump or bump when this happens :/

Also check the shaft meeting your secondary clutch for "cast" , or a bend (What word do you use in english?) Or else it can be the clutch shims, engine mounts worn out (if they have rubber/plastic bushings)and so on.. but the others have mentioned theese things

Keep us posted!
