2 sleds 2 questions

Ok Had some issues concerning bad fuel in the 99 powder (one of them) that I bought. It froze up and created all sorts of chaos when I went to tog. Anyway couldnt get it to run right after draining fuel so we replaced lines and a slough of other things. Still would bog like it was sucking air and backfire a bit you could pump the throttle to get it runnign well but it just wasnt right and god help ya if ya let off the throttle.

Flash to today I replace what I thought was a bad float and as im searching over things I see a line with a crack. Its the line that comes off the bowl of the Mikuni Flat Slide carb. This is the one that has a sealed end. Its split wide open on the bottom. So I replaced the float and this line with a makeshift line witn a stop in it and it seems to be ok. IT starts easier and idles and it seemed to run ok in the 50 yards I can run it on once down my street it would drain that bowl as its runnign WOT and then start sucking air which would lead to the backfiring and ultimately crapping out.
\\I can now jump on the throttle and it doesnt act like it wants to bog so I think im ok just have no where close by (less than 2 hrs) to test it out before i go somewhere....Think im ok

Number 2 I have the frankenpanther listed below in my signature almost finished. I have power through the stater and up to the coil but can only get intermittent spark on the original 440 motor coil and none on the coil that came with the 85 500FC I put in it. Is it possible that the CDI is not agreeing well with the 440 coil? Does a coil that is dying intermittently work and not work? I cant get any consistancy. I have constant power from the stator to the cdi to the coil 22X.oo volts when ya pull it over so I am thinking that the coil is the deal as I have no spark. I have bypassed all kill switches for diagnosis and come up with nothing. Can it be just murphys law and I have one dead coil and one dying? I have a used 500FC coil on the way just looking for advice. Lastly the sled when it runs on the 440 coil will idle high then slowly die out and the spark is more whitish but seems to leave the plugs clean when run. I can ride the sled and it runs well when its running just wont idle without givin the throttle a burp. Does this sound like an obvious spark problem? I have cleaned the carb thoroughly and have attempted a million different combos and cant seem to get it to idle right when I can get it running. Its strange but it seems changing the idle screw has no effect on the RPM at idle??? I cant get a change at all no matter what i change so I am figuring this is all tied in to weak spark.

Sorry for being long winded but wanted to be thorough. Any help is apprecaited..
