Exclamation Is this a good deal? '97 Polaris 600 XLT

Hey all my brother is looking for a newer sled and recently came across a desperate seller on another local snowmobile forum that is selling a 1997 Polaris 600 XLT.

Only problems that are known are the hood has a SMALL crack in it from something small. Also the seat has a small tear in the seam. Again nothing major. The engine looks REALLY clean for being a 97.

He wants to sell it for $1200 OBO and we offered $825 and he agreed. Currently he is up north however getting a Christmas ride in but he said to call him in the morning. We want to go up there this weekend regardless where he is to make the deal.

I checked some values for this sled and its about $1500 or so.

It only has 3900 miles on it.

It runs great

He says the following
Quote:
it has studs, pipes, plastic skies and skid plate, cobra windsheild, fox shocks, skid plate, lrm pipes

It has no reverse and no elect start. But I can always put the reverse on and its not that much

Heres some pictures

sounds like a fair price for that sled provided it runs good the hood is nothing major can alway get one from a cycle yard and the seat and no biggy polaris makes garbage seats they always fall apart those pipes alone would be over the $600 mark and the skis are another 150plus so i say u have a winner provided you go over the sled carfully and make SURE IT HAS OWNERSHIP last thing you want is a stolen sled on your hands! good luck man

Alrighty yeah

Just wondering what makes them pipes so much better?

Don't worry about the stolen dealio....I'm sure he wouldn't want to sell a hot item to someone who works along sides with law enforcement

the pipes allow the motor to breath better a motor is like a giant air pump! the pipes allow more air to leave quicker meaning more can come in faster makeing more hp! always a good thing more air out= more air in= more hp! sounds like you getting a great deal man have fun

I responded with well I don't care where you're at. I'll be there. This weekend. Cash.

Is there any way to verify that it is lrm pipes?

The tripples are great motors make tons of power lots of mods and sound sick will sound even better with the tripple pipes as for them being irm idk bout that brand but on my aaen pipes the aaen logo is stamped right on the pipe i wouldnt worry bout it too much tho its pretty obvious there tripple pipes and as for the reversie its not even worth it to put one on its a ton of work from what i under stand and if a shop were to do it they would charge you out the ass reverise is acctually really usless unless the sleds on level ground and thats nothing a little mucle cant move good luck

reverse on a sled is a joke on anything but hard pack and then your luky to go back 10 feet without still having to get off and move manually.sled looks ok but 4000 miles is lot for an old polaris...good luck
