Recoil not pulling
Do you guys know what would be casuing the recoil on my yamaha ovation to not be connecting when pulling it. The rope isnt broken, its just not catching or something

When you pull the rope, there's a "dog" that engages the starter basket. Most common problem is that the dog is sticking and doesn't come out when you pull. Sometimes a bit of lubrication will help things along, but you have to be careful where you put the lube; some recoils also have to have friction to allow the dog to engage.

Probably got frozen with snow/ice. Use a hair dryer to heat the recoil up, then it should work.

Also try WD40 on the rope as well.

Cool, I should just bring the sled into the garage and let it sit in the heat for a while in that case. I fele sort of bad now, my dad mentioned to me thats what it was, but i sort of just brushed him off, I guess he was right..Thanks guys

Only on the rarest of occasions though  .
Especially father-in-laws. Even if they are right you never let them know.
