Getting cylinder and head square?

I need tips and tricks on getting a cylinder and head nice and smooth for a gasket. I think I have a rogh spot on my cylinder causing my gasket to leak.

Also, can I spray the gasket with copper gasket, to help create a better seal?

thanks

For the head, my manual say if it’s a slight imperfection, tape a piece of 400-600 grit wet sand paper to a plate glass or other perfectly flat surface. Move the head on it in a figure-eight motion rotating it on itself often (spin it on itself). If the imperfection is to great after this it needs to be machined. Same thing applies to the sleeve.

What engine is this? Most newer sleds use O rings to seal. A slight imperfection wouldn't do anything! A warped head might and the sand paper will show the spot but you will need to have it turned to fix it!

Glad to be back, (actually been reading posts all year, just no questions till this week).

I had to give up on the wildcat. Sold it on ebay for $500, and took a huge loss. Could never get it to run correctly. Guy that bought it from me, thought the timing was off.

Bought a 92 v-max 4 in grat shape low miles for $900Trying to get all the kinks worked out on that.

gotta run.....

The machine shop called and said thay had to take off .006 to make it nice and flat. Will I still be ok to use a 2 layer head gasket, or should I bump to a 3 layer to compensate?

i could also try copper cote?

Thanks
