Help Choosing New Sled

Allright, here's the story. We live in Woodstock NB about ten minutes from the border to Houlton Maine. Supposed to be a decent year for snow here so my dad decided he was going to get a new sled. He bought a 2007 F8 brand new over across the border because it was such a good deal. We also so have a '96 (I think) Panther 440 and up until a couple of days ago we also had an '04 Z 440 which I have been riding the last few winters and an '04 F6 that my dad rode until this year. Since my dad had his new sled he decided we would sell the 440 and the F6. Both of them went quick and within about a week of putting them in the advertiser they were both sold. But when my dad went over to the Cat Dealership the other day to look at buying a F6 for me to ride this winter they said they couldn't sell him another one because Arctic Cat is not allowing Canadians to buy sleds from the states any more. I guess there were just to many people taking advantage of the high dollar and opting to buy from the American dealerships intead of their hometown Canadian ones.Anyways I guess Ski-Doo is doing the same thing so now we need to find a Yamaha or Polaris to get before snow falls unless we decide to buy used.

So, I need your help to choose a sled to buy. I'd consider anything liquid cooled and I'm looking for a trail sled that can take a bit of a beating. About the 7 thousand dollar range is what we're looking for. The two sleds I was thinking about were the new Yamaha Phazer or the Polaris IQ Shift. So post up what you think of these sleds or if you have any other suggestions.

Since you know sledding and want mostly trail I would seriously look at a 2005 Polaris FUSION 900.
Why, they are cheap, $4,000 with hardly any miles and can go 130 MPH with a 180 pound rider.
Make sure have all the updates and get several mods for under a grand and you will have a great time on the straight away but suffer in the turns unless you can manhandle it.

Or you could get the IQ shift for new.

Actually a 2007 600 IQ with a 660 or 685 kit from HTG or Cutlers will beat any unmodded sled 800cc and under. I think I would go used with a warranty remaining.
Personally I would get a 2007 raw chassis with the 660 or 685 kit. Lower compression for longevity, lighter than Poo other models. Great in the turns and fast acceleration. The sled will easily keep up with your Dad's F8 or should I say your Dad will be working to keep up with you.

Sure other guys on here will refine my opinion.

Thanks for the reply Brown435 . I don't think however that whatever I get will be modded very much if at all. I'm only fourteen so I count myself lucky that my dad would even consider a 600 sled for me to ride. Also I will need something that's pretty easy to carve through the coners in as I only weigh about 105 pounds.

Keep the suggestions coming!

Do you know how much a sticker kit would be for this sled? I almost like the all black though, kinda makes it a bit of a sleeper.
