The only reason I liked studs was for stopping. But i do prefer to ride with out them I like sliding around. I'd take them out. By the way thats a sweet sled!

I've always had studded tracks on my sleds. It makes for hard stops and starts, which I like. I've ridden one friends sled w/o studs and it was kinda fun sliding around corners and such, but the track just spun when taking off hard. It was definitely a different style of riding.

X2!! I love mine....great traction for accels & great stopping power!! Without all that trackspin, it's also easier on the trails!!

Believe it or not they do add a little life to your track. Instead of the track lugs taking the beating, the studs take it.

I agree with leaving them in until you ride it. I have had sleds with and without studs and it all depends on you. The funny thing is when you don't have them and you get totally spank out of the hole by your buddies with studs on their sleds, or your screaming down a trail and ya need to stop quick ya wish they were there. If you have them in and your buzzing through the twisties you see you friends sliding their tails around courners having a gas. So just ride it for now. Good luck, have fun. Very nice sled and your gonna love that SDI600!

Sharpen or replace them. I used to run w/o studs till I finally broke down and got 'em. Will never ride without 'em again. Great launches and stop in half the distance.

Will not HURT anything if they are rounded. And if they are missing, Can you replace them? Is the track ripped out and unable to hold a new stud?
Also, any partially ripped out stud you WILL want to remove those to avoid catching your heat exchanger and gouging a hole in it.

Deffinately leave them in, you could ruin the track taking them out! Ask around to see if anyone has a few of your size and type and replace whats missing, because of ballance. Just like a car tire out of ballance! If the holes are torn out drill a new hole a ways away but in the same line, just not in the outer belt if possible

Taking them out will not ruin the track but things could get caught in the holes and start a rip. I have found that short tracks seem to slide around a little more too. It all depends on what YOU want. Ride it before you decide. Do you have snow yet?
