GET RID OF THOSE ANCHORS!!

seriously though, get some plastic ones, a lot lighter, float much better, easier steering effort.. Do not be afraid to get rid of the metal ones!!

Usually they can bolt right on. But they can be rather expensive. Have you looked into ski skins?

The ski skins are plastic and fit over the ski bottom of a steel ski, it will make the ski slippery on snow versus steel. It won't save weight but will cost less then a plastic ski.Plastic skis are nice but can nick easier on rocks, etc. in low snow conditions. plowking

my sled came stock with steel skis. the skis themselves are indestructable, but then again, are "heavy".

i purchased the USI PX301's and they are awesome. the skis are much wider to allow for more float on the powder. they have a deep keel to eliminate darting. and i switched carbides to the hour glass hape (studboy shaper bars).

this combo definately improved the front end driveability of the sled, plus the sled looks better. check out my gallery for pics of the skis and install.

Plastic skis:
light weight
don't rust
better floatation
shock absorbing
much more slippery on the snow
snow does not stick to the ski after getting wet or sitting to long
they look better
and in my experience they steer much better

im a big fan of the c&a pro line. got the advantage line on my zr and the sports on my old formy. agressive ski, great floatation, and they go across water like a jet ski.
