I think each company makes a good "lake crossing" sled.

Its just what your most comfortable with and what you like.

It is an opinion yes, but if they all have a decent sled and there isnt one better then the other per say then how can we do it if there isnt a choice in the poll?

Loaded question. They ALL make a decent lake model. Mach Z, Thundercat, etc.

Oh frozen lake!! I thought you meant open water!! In that case then, id have to go with a well built firecat. Not just saying that because i have one, but because if they are professionally built, not much touches them.. Then id have to say MachZ behind it.. Or the Yammie with a turbo.

A yamaha with a good tune and a turbo with a decent amount of boost would pretty much be untouchable. specially if it hooks up.

I think for this poll you could just as well ask "what make of sled are you currently riding?" and get about the same results.

Whichever sled has studs in it. As for open water I have no idea but I do know that sleds DON'T float. Don't want to thread jack but does anyone know if insurace would cover it.

Personally i think ski-doo with the machz is the fastest(from the factory) the ski-doos always had pefict clutching from the factory.. so if were talking stock sleds i would go with ski-doo...

I feel with a little work the 2000 yamaha srx is a fast lake runner but for sure the 1000 mach z will run down just about anything stock .......

I voted for arctic cat not because i own one but because of the thundercat i've personaly rode one and the power and tourq that that machince had was kinda scary and that thing is damn fast liftin the skis everytime I taped the throttle.... although im sure the mach z would be just as fast if not faster than the thunder cat just voted for tha cat cause of personal experince!

Yeah i can't take anything away from the Tkat, i ran a zrt 800 for 5 years if there set up right they run but it just seem's the mach z is more suited for lake racing just my .2 cents
