Running your sleds in the summertime

I was out in the driveway, listening to my neighbor try to get his quad started just before. He was complaining that he hadn't tried to start it in a while, so it was running bad.

So it struck me - how often should you start and run your sled(s) during the summer, just to keep everything lubricated and happy? Anybody out there got a policy on this? There are only a few months a year when you can actually run a sled, as opposed to a quad, which you could run all year.

I have always started my sleds once a month and never had any problems. I let in run for about 10-15 minutes to make sure all the moisture is burned off.

You can run a fan cooled or air cooled sled all day as long as the carb is jetted correctly not to run too rich. Air cooled sled engined are EXACTLY like lawnmowers, chainsaws, gocarts, etc.

If you fog the motor and stabilize the fuel, than everything should remain happy all summer long
