motor swap

have a 98 indy 500 want to put 93 motor in it do i need motor plate from a 98 or will a different one work and was thinking of putting a 650 in the 500 body is it possible

the 650 wont fit with out mods to it.. but the other 500 will

the 650 is a tripple, and the 500 is a twin...so they're two different motors.

THe 650 can be made to fit with imagination and some vasiline. It will require a bit of "massaging" to go in though.

I think RJ is right, they used to put the 597cc XLT motor in that chassis so I think the 650 should fit too with some work. Maybe you can find an old XLT motor? The XLT LTD, and touring models came in that came chassis.

motor swap

just wondering if you need to weld new brackets or if there is a motor plate that woujd work i have a 500 and a 650 motor just wanted top put a bigger motor in bought the chassis for 150 with no motor or suspension or track i have a 94 xlt also all the tripples are the same
