Kinda odd looking IMO. Basically a different kind of hovercraft.

Pretty smart invention. Could see search and rescue utilizing something like that.

We have a ton of drownings in the winter with snowmobilers going under, this would help search and rescue get to the scene much faster

Cool Terra-jet/Snow mobile

That things looks awsome. A man after my own heart i see. I'm looking to find out as much as i can about snowmobile engines if anyone has any technical information i'm looking for a fan cooled engine putting out atleast 20 horsepower. to install in my terra-jet 453 amphibious 4x4 vehicle and i'm not very familiar with either snowmobiles or terra-jets. If anyone can answer. Does it hurt a snowmobile engine to run and about half speed for extended periods of time or are they typically run fast all the time. I will be using the original belt driven pully therefore the engine will be working most of the time. and can anyone recommend a reliable older engine that i can still get parts for reasonably priced. thanks for all your help. terra/mobile you can also reply to falconinspector77@msn.com

340 or440 fan cooled twins of any recent manufacture will be suitable.

Also Ski Doo 380's are good engines. They can run at half throttle all day. Won't hurt them at all.

That engine has plenty of poop for what you want to use it for.
The biggest headache will be getting it mounted and the clutches lined up properly.

Smile current project

Does anyone know how hard it's going to be to wire up this motor listed in my previous post. What i'm going to need to get it started. And does the coil have to have 12v power and be grounded to the engine before you will get spark. thanks so much for all your help. I do appreciate it. terra/mobile AKA Aj

The wiring will be simple, all you need is a switch to be able to turn it off with and the engine provides it's own power.

wiring

OK here's the full story. The engine i'm looking at buying has a harness coming off of it. Din plug style from what seems to be the side cover by the pull starter. the coil has two wires coming off of it. red and white. the owner of this engine pulled the plugs and layed them on the head pulled the rope and got no spark. Do you think it needs power to get spark and what is typically hooked up to this harness? Do you know where i can get a wiring schematic so i can power things like lights and maybe a voltmeter to monitor the battery condition. that should be all i need. The schematic is the main thing. i can't seem to find one on the internet anywhere. any idea's ? Thanks for the quick answers. You have been a great help so far. Aj

Oh and do you think complete with carbs minus muffler but has the manifold 150.00 is an acceptable price?
