98 skidoo mxz 583 help

have a skidoo 583 the secondary clutch you can pull it in and out about three quarters of a inch slop is this suppose to be like this any answers would be great thanks

That is so that the belt can self align, if you mean it moves on the shaft.

3/4" sounds like alot, there should be one shim spacer behind the driven clutch its about 5/8" wide or so. be sure you have that one. but it should move a bit.

upersleder yesit has one like 5/8 but maybe the slop is about 1/2 inch i am new to the sport and just wasnt sure that was right so thanks for the info

that should be good, as long as the shaft dont move from side to side you should be fine. i like to use a very light coat of never seize on the shaft to keep rust from forming.
