besides clutching you can install an aftermarket airbox kit or pipe it, also a good site to check would be slp

littledawg, where do you ride the most?
In some states, it is illegal to modify the exhaust.
PM sent.

michigan...you dont have anything to worry about. the only thing to be cautious of is riding in places on the Au Train Trail, between Au Train and Marquette. There is a speed limit area and when the cops are out, and they hear pipes, they usually look for you, because you'd be the easiest to spot...if you were in fact speeding.

I have an slp can on my 900 and it's not much louder but it saves 15lbs and is good for a couple of hp and I don't see the pipe being any louder as it uses the same can.

yes...ride about 90% of the time out of munising. the other 10% is on the annual sf.com michigan rides, with those other short-buss riders . but out of munising i ride east to grand marias, or west to big bay (just northwest of marquette). so basically the whole northern-central UP.

im almost 99% sure there are no restrictions on exhaust in MI.
due to areas such as the mullet lake trail, or the au train trail, which are trails with easements next to homes, you might see some restrictions if exhaust becomes a problem, however, MSA/MI-DNR has not posted anything.

we stay in newbery and do the loop to grand marias and if we feel real good we go to munsing the reason i ask about more hp is this fusion dont have the take off power i like to have my wifes 06 indy 500 takes it on the start and i dont like it i also have a 98 xc 700 that will get up and move the fusion dont even come close to it but the ride is a lot nicer

I agree, clutching it is the way to go for what you want but traction might become an issue if it isn't already.

Yes. get the clutch kit, the sled already makes the power, now with a clutch kit you can put it to use.

I personally don't like the idea of running picks due to the potential damage they can do but I would suggest that you go with a min of 144
