Which sled?

A 1999 arctic cat zl 600 (non- EFI), 38xx miles, $1500 OBO or a 1999 polaris XLT Special (600 Triple) ,46xx miles $1700 OBO. Both are around the same distance from where I am. Which is a more reliable sled? Is the triple a gas hog? Thanks

I have a 98 XLT 600 (fairly new to me ) I get between 8 and 12 MPG depending on how I control my itchy thumb.

The twin will be better on gas, the triple will be faster in the top end.

How reliable is the polaris? Are those miles really high? I drove the arctic cat and it is pretty nice but needs a tune up. I havent seen the polaris yet. Thanks

The polaris triple is a decent engine, lots of top end.
It will use more gas though.
For the price, I'd go with the sled with the least miles on it.
If you do go for the triple, get the price down more as it has much higher miles on it.

i have a 98 xlt sp 600...its a gas hog, especially once those rpm's get up to 7-8.5k...

its got a lot of top end, but i would go with the 600 if your looking for slower trail riding...its probably a lot better on gas, and will get you where you want to go.

The ZL would be the better deal. Not being bias.

the zl is lighter, better on fuel,
the xlt, is heavier, worse on fuel,

twins are nice

if all you ride on is lakes, and want a faster top end, go polaris, it you ride everywhere else, and want to be able to throw the sled around easier, good for ditches, trails, powder, go zl,

i rode a xlt for a few days fast but heavy
i owned a 99 zrt 600, fast sled, but heavy,
i owned a zr 700 fast sled lighter
i own a zr 440 quick feather light
