Hey, RJ! Keihin adjustment?

I've got a Yammi Inviter in the shop with a Keihin butterfly carb on it. There is a screw on the top of it, which I think is the low speed, but of course the micro doesn't label it. What's it for?

It's the idle air mixture screw. Performs the same function as the idle mixture screws on Mikuni slide carbs.

The idle speed screw is the only adjustment shown other than the idle speed adjuster screw. The book shows that the jet should be changed to allow for every 2000 ft change in elevation and 18 degree change in temperature. A lower number jet should be used whenever altitude or weather temp. increases.

Float level is adjusted by bending the metal tang between float body and float pin. The distance should be 0.48/0.67 inch when the carb is tilted at a 20/30 degree angle.

I thought it was the air mix screw, but wasn't sure. One turn out is static adjustment? In for leaner? I'm so used to Mikunis, never had to work on a Keihin before!

Yep, one turn is the starting point. Adjust until it idles smooth and it is ready to go.
