Parish / Tug Hill Area 47" w/ 5 feet coming!

I was just listening to the local weather report and they're reporting 47" of snow from the recent storm, with 5 more (FEET!!!) on the way. WooHoo... when it snows, it... um, well, uh, snows. Yeah, it snows.

I rode out of Parish last Monday (Jan. 29). I like to drop there because I can get an extra 20-30 minutes of riding in, over dropping at Redfield. The trails between Parish and Redfield are normally pretty nice too! Coming home, we ran into such a blizzard that we had to creep along at 20 MPH because the visibility was so poor. You couldn't see 30' in front of you! Snow was coming down in buckets, and the plows couldn't pretend to keep up. Only saw one, and that was coming at us. Glad I had 4WD, as the snow was a good 6-8" on the road.

Hoping to drop there again tomorrow - IF the groomers can keep up with the snowfall. Don't want to spend the day digging myself out.

107" of snow

That's damn near three feet over my head.

Hopefully the groomers get out to pack that or else you'll be getting stuck every half inch or so.

That was the problem yesterday! Groomers couldn't get their work done 'cause there were stuck sleds everywhere. At least that's what I heard... It's been pretty windy, and that tends to pack the snow a bit as well. It's been WAY cold though, which keeps the snow loose. I can't complain though... snow is snow!

I was going to head up there tomorrow, but I'm going to wait until Thursday so my neighbor can come along.

I just saw on the weather network that local amounts are in the 8 foot area with another 4 feet expected by the weekend.

Yeah, I heard something on the order of 100 inches fell. I'm going to attempt to drive up there tomorrow. I've got a sport 4WD with brand new tires, so I don't think it will be a problem, unless they close roads.

EDIT -
Ha, just called down to GristMill and they told me their lot is open and plowed. That means I'm going...
