Back Braces
Hey guys -
Just wondering if any of you ride with back braces, and if you've got any recommendations. I'm usually good to go all day, but if we're riding washboard trails, I just want to fall off my sled & give up - not fun!
A couple of the guys we ride with use back braces, and say that they don't go through that pain like they used to. I don't know what brands they have, or where they got them.
Any info would be GREATLY appreciated - we're headed up to Eagle River, WI this weekend, so I'm hoping to get something asap!
Thansk in advance!

my friends use kidney belts for motocross. MSR MOOSE and others make them, they say it helps, i would try that rout first, thats the hard part, your kidneys bouncing up and down.

Try streching out before and after you ride, or get a set of bar risers so you can ride standing up in the bumps and use your legs to absorb the bumps. I don't like kidney belts they tend to get uncomfortable on long rides.

I second the risers. Especially if your taller. Mine helped a lot even when sitting down, I'd say anyone near six feet or over should always use risers.

I bought a genuine Arctic Cat one on eBay a few months ago for $10. They called it a "kidney belt", but it has a stiffener in the back. It wraps around and has Velcro in front to secure it. Rode with it the first time a week ago. I was absolutely amazed at how it prevented back fatigue. I'm sold.

I'm 5'5"...5'5 1/2" on a good day. I didn't think I needed risers...ever...until we rode a lot of rough trail a couple weeks ago. 2" for standing up would have been nice, since I did a lot of that.
I'm going to try looking up kidney belts and see what a I get - thanks for the input!

I rode with a back guard all last year and honestly, they really do help! I have one that has the stiff back and velcros in the front. I don't remember the brand name but I'd definitley recommend them!

I'm hoping to go home from campus today and have a Fox Racing kidney belt waiting by my front door! I got it on a close-out special (woo hoo for saving money) - I'm hoping it helps this coming weekend!

Let us know how it works Red polaris I used a 1 1/4" pivot adapter + a 2" riser block on mine for a total of 3 1/4" and didn't even have to snip any ties. You could probably get 4" before you have to consider extensions.
