River/Lake Running

I was just wondering how hard it is on sleds to run them quickly down the river for long periods of time? We were out on the weekend, and since the trails aren't the greatest aroudn here, but the river is frozen, and you can go forever on it, we spent a lot of time on it. But all of our touring was around the 75 to 90 MPH range, and I was just curious, how hard this is on a sled? I know not to let off the throttle and let it idle all the way down to prevent a cylinder from getting seized from no lubrication, but is there any risk of anything else happening?

Over heating due to not enough snow hitting the heat exchangers.

as long as your jetting is correct, you have snow like RJ said and ice, i guess your fine. i choose to vary the throttle all the time when riding any high speed stretch just to be safe, if your sled has a lean spot due to varied harmonic frequencies, airflow conditions ect. and you vary the throttle/RPM you have a better chance of nothing happening. if you stay in a lean condition too long.....well ya know

I agree, just make sure there is enough snow for the heat exchangers, the sliders/hyfax, and vary your throttle position everything should be fine.
