Sled Performance Information

Hey,

I知 in the process of buying a new sled. I have been riding a 98 500 MXZ and its been a fun ride. But I致e decided that I知 going to upgrade before I have to put money into an older sled.

I have been to all the local dealers and I have narrowed my choices down to two sleds.

The 1st sled is a 2006 xz-renegade-600-h.o.
The 2nd sled is a 2006 FIRECAT F6

I need a sled that has lots of power and one that can handle ditch banging and jumping.

What sled should I buy?

Those are both good sleds, the Skidoo will have a lot better mileage which needs to be factored in as well. Power wise they are pretty close and they will both ditchbang with the best of them. I say go with the one who as the best and most reliable dealer. A sled is only as good as the person who sets it up! Also the Renegade will do better in the deeper snow (16" x 136" x 1.25"track), check out the Crossfire from Cat, it is a better comparison to the Skidoo Renegade.

The Cat would be a bit lighter and maybe a little faster?
I'm a Cat man myself! Either would have a better suspension than what you got! Both would have more power, But if more power is what you want, both will leave you wanting more yet!(Its that got more want more thing!) Perhaps you should go lots more? ( save your self the upgrade step) Like an 800

That renegade will be more than enough power for you. The 800 is heavier/worse on fuel. Both sleds will be a great choice, though.

The Crossfire looks like a great sled.

An 800 is tempting but I知 not willing to spend that much money and the gas is a factor.

I know very little about Cats but they defiantly have the nicest look sled on the market right now.

I love the Revs but everyone tells me that Bombardier has the biggest toolbox in the sport.

Both sleds will cost around the same. So the deciding factors will be speed, gas mileage and dependably.

Reliability is equal across the board. I have many friends with REV's and they never wrench on them besides maintenance stuff. Same with the other brands nowadays.

A stock Cat has 118 horses, the Doo has 115.
