My neighbor got some news today

Well, 8 years ago, my neighbor had his brand new (2) MXZ's and trailer stolen out of his driveway when he lived south of here in the city. He got a call today that the sleds have been found up north in Oscoda, MI. He's actually getting them back. They got stolen with about a 1000 miles on them, and the one ,he was told has about 3200 miles on it now. Not sure of the other one. Thought that was kind of wild. Can't wait to hear the whole story.

I would've thought they would be stripped? Wow after 8 years
how did they get away with ridding 2200 miles?
Glad to here he's getting them back, I wonder after 7 years can the insurance company come back to him?

The sleds were not insured at the time. From what I understand, the cop was a trained professional in identifing stolen sleds/property. I'll get more of the story later.

That's pretty amazing that someone was even on the case/lookout after all these years!!! Craziness....

Yea, the cop noticed the serial numbers had been scratched off. He followed through and ran the numbers on the engine, and bingo, stolen sleds.

Thats amazing! I would be a very happy camper if I were your neighbour. My brother had a similar situation with his car, not as long of a period but it was gone for 7 months and was found in perfect condition in a parking lot on the other side of the city! Crazy!

After 8 years, I would have pretty much given up all hope. I'd just assume that they were never coming back. I bet he's happy that they're coming back though.

Beleve it or not or finest do look out for us tax payers!
At Hat Days a few years ago I had a sled impounded! Pissed me off that I had to make the 12 hour one way trip back to get it a couple of weeks later! But it was cool I didn't even notice the serial number on the tunnel, I bought the sled with a few others at an auction, glad it came back clean!!
