I thought the srx name didn't appear till late 90's? And 105hp out of a 440 in '76 does seem a bit stretched.

im not sure what year they started bu i do know there was a 77 SRX 440. And they were the sled to beat back in the day. I thought i read somwhere that they had about 90 hp.

Actually it was the 77 that had the 105 hp, and the srx first came out in 74 as an oval drag sled. The 78-79 had 90-95 hp, while in the 80-81 years had 85-90 hp. I own a 79 that has been ported and polished and has the high compression heads on it, and its pushin 97-98 hp and can keep up with all the late model 600's. So for those of you who didn't know about the early srx's, there ya go!
