great ride on the lake.

this past weekend went out on the lake for first time this year it was great, there is 14 inches of ice on the lake right now with a few soft spots. Broke threw a few times and had to give a boit more gas, no big deal just kinda freeky when you start to feel you back end sinkin' and little spats of water comin' from the track. otherwise great ride

how bout them dudes that ride on the lake in the summer. do you need to modify your sled to do that or just give it hell and hope you make it to the other side of the lake?

there's 14 inches but a couple rather soft spots because of cracks. then snomobiles ride across and the whole chunks of ice get pushed a bit under, you don't really sink, water just gushes on top of the ice.

the ice isn't actuallt breaking under you, what happens is the weight of the snow causes the ice to crack and then water mixes with the snow causing slush that's why it looks like there is water coming up. There is alot of slush on all the lakes around here and up north because we got so much snow so early and it insulates the ice so it doesn't get as thick as usual. We've riding on the lake for a bout a month but we give like 80+ mph the entire time and don't stop mostly because of slush. as long as there is no flowing water you have nothing to worry about in sask this time of year just stay of the creeks and rivers.
