02 polaris 440 pro x... stumped

pro x runs fine when first starting to ride, but if you stop it seems to flood when you hit the throttle... we have checked the needle and seat, the jetting, the carb settings, the choke... etc... we changed the coil, plug wire ends, and the plugs... all of this made no difference. weather we set it up to run lean or rich makes no difference to this problem.... the engine has just been rebuilt do to burnt rings... any ideas as to how to fix this problems would be great.....

Thanks for your suggestions.

Make sure compression is where it needs to be. How did you "check" the needle and seat? Did you pressure test it? Also when was the clutch system cleaned last?

also not sure about the polaris's but when the stator starts going bad on the old doo's it will act like that. drop plugs and make you wonder whats wrong with the carbs....

sorry, compression is good and we RESEATED the needle. could a dirty clutch cause a problem like this? also if it were the stator the lights would dim significantly right... because they don't really change.

thanks again.

The light and the ignition coil are two separate items in there.

Just for kicks, you wouldnt happen to have bar risers on that sled you are messing with do you or have tampered with the throttle cable?

the sled had bar risers from factory.. we had adjusted the throttle cables because they were set wrong by the previous owner.... the sled was doing this before we adjusted them tho. i took it for a ride today and if you pin the throttle it will rev up to about 4500 rpm and then bog down to about 3000 rpm and just sit there and smoke.
