checking Compresion

how do you check compresion on a sled?

Remove plugs, install gauge, hold throttle wide open, pull it over a couple of times. You will get a more accurate reading if the engine is warm.

there's a guage that i believe fits in were the plugs were (take them out)

Sears has a compression guage that is reasonably priced.
