Seafoam?

Who uses or has used it? My local NAPA just started carrying it, I bought a can. Any pointers?

I'd ask our mechanic but he's gone to denver for a week for some tech school. I know he uses it like crazy, and recommends it to customers all the time. Even gives away partially full cans just to get them to use it.

i have always used it in the fuel, i think on the can it has an application for oil, but cannot remember exactly. i know one can helped clean out my van that would not run after it had been sitting for years. once dumped in i had to put a fresh set of plugs in (3rd set that day) and about ten miles of road riding it would idle and run fine all on its own. i have also used it in a few ATVs that needed a good fuel clening, it really worked great there too

I have used it in with the fuel for the TNT. It helped a lot with clearing out the Carb, and absorbed some of the moisture in the lines from sitting around. I think its something like 1oz. for every gallon. Great stuff.

Sea Foam

Some applications for you.

It's weird actually answering a question for SEG, because he's usually doing the answering. I just recently put some in the fuel tank of my sled, as well as in the carbs, and it seems to run a lot better.

First tank of the year gets Seafoam, especially in the EFI. I have had way fewer issues with varnish build-up using it. I think it works better as a maintenance item to keep things clean compared to using it instead of a good cleaning of a dirty carb...

Yeah it is strange to answer a question for SEG. But, there is a catch, it wasn't really snowmobile related, more so with a product. So there still has yet to be a day where SEG needed us for any help.

I didn't even think of that. Definately a valid point. There's got to be something that he doesn't know about sleds, but so far, he's on top of his game.

I sent an e-mail to Seafoam about applications for 2 stroke snowmobiles with oil injection.500 - 600 cc. I couldn't find anything on their web site 'cept for small 2 cycle, must be lawn mower engines. I'll let you all know what they say.

It really does nothing if the fuel system is already clean.Unless you leave fuel in your equipment for more than 60 days I see no need for it.

Anybody know what will happen if I put some of this
in with gas that already has STA-BIL (red stuff) in it?

I'd like to just run the STA-BIL out first but no snow yet.

This was Seafoams reply from my e-mail:

Sea Foam is used in any 2 cycle, 4 cycle or diesel application, and was originally put on the market for 2 cycle engines in 1940.

If your fuel is mixed with oil in a container, then added to your fuel tank, use 2 ounces Sea Foam for every gallon of the mix.

If you use regular fuel and your oil is injected into the engine without pre mixing it into your fuel, use 1 ounce per gallon. Do not use Sea Foam into your injected oil reservoir, as that is electronically or mechanically metered for a special oil.

Lubricating, drying moisture, cleaning carbon, cleaning fuel residue and stabilizing fuels are all accomplished whenever you add Sea Foam to your fuel in the proper ratio's.

IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT ENGINE YOU PUT SEA FOAM INTO, AS LONG AS YOU ARE USING GASOLINE, GAS/OIL MIX OR DIESEL FUEL ! That covers all engines that use a petroleum base or Ethanol base or Bio base, or any other NON PROPANE derivative of nature - fuels!
