A little bit of everything here. We have a 2000 summit 700 and a 1999 Machz800 triple at the cabin and I have a 1995 Arctic Cat 580 EXT EFI and a 92 Arctic Cat 550 EXT special at the house. We also have a old Polaris from somewhere around the late 70's early 80's that is sitting at my son's house. He also has Summit Hymark at home as well. I almost forget the first two. It's kind of a long story. The first two had been underwater due to flooding and after he got them into the shed, my brother in law never did anything with them. 6 years later, I asked him what his plans for them were and he told me to take them and do whatever I wanted with them. This was two older 70's model Yamahas. I got them home and there was 4 inches of ice in one of the gas tanks. The other sled was really too far gone to repair so I used it for parts. I dumped Magic Marvel Mystery oil in the cylinders of the other and let it sit for 2 days and it broke loose with a light tap. I then ripped the carb apart and cleaned it real well and carefully put it back together. When I got ready to start it, I put in the original plugs cause I knew there was a lot of oil in the crankcase and I didn't want to foul the new plugs. It started on the 3rd pull and I didn't even pull al couple times with the key off. It sat there and idled and smoked for about 15 minutes coughing and threathening to die until it finally stopped smoking so bad and I shut it off and put the new plugs in and it cranked right up. I was really surprised how well it held up being underwater nearly every year. I did have to take it to a carwash and spent $20.00 getting all of the mud and crap out and off but in the end it was worth the effort. It had a weak gear in the chaincase so we rode it as gently as we could around the neighborhood. I finally sold that old sled for $500. to a guy that needed it for parts. I should have kept the motor because it would have made a very nice gokart. If anyone ever tells you a Yamaha is junk, show them this. I thought so at the time but now I have plenty of respect for their durability
