The plastic part on the sliders that is for wear amd lube. It is lubed by snow that is melted by the heat of friction and a thin film of water is present to allow the track top slide easily over it. It also provices a rear indicator and protection to the metal part of the skid.

Sliders are also the greasy burgers from White Castle!!
Hifax is kinda' a cool word, tho!! Especially if you say it real slow.........
