Yamaha SXR

Hey everyone, i'm new to this forum..just recently bought a 2002 SXR600 with only 1,000 miles on it for about $3,500. Sled is in mint condition and has nothing wrong with it. I have been dieing watching it sit around waiting for the snow to fall. My last sled was a 87 Yamaha phazer, and i was wondering speed wise how this will compare to that, and also to my friends 98 formula III 700 and my dads 04 Sabercat 500. Lets hear some good things about this sled

That will be a very nice sled! A little heavy on the gas though with that tripple. You might be stopping to fill up more often. Dependable sled.

Those are a decent sled and you should be happy with it. I can't see you competing with the Formula III, but the sabrecat should be a close comparison. I have only known people with SXr 700's and they have had nothing but good things to say about them. Sounds like you just have to be very sure it is warm before you really pound on it. My buddy spent a couple weekends fouling plugs before he got a routine down.

How about in the powder? Will i be an anchor and sink right through it because its kind of heavy, or is it a good carver? Also, i take it I won't be able to get those skiis off the ground will i?

really nice sled you will be happy with it ,once you get use to it, its a real change of a ride from the phazer. and yes speed? no problem it will keep up to a 700. trust me you will not be the last guy at the end of the line.
