Synthetic Oil - AMSOIL INTERCEPTOR
Just curious what oil I should be running in my SDI Sleds? All my sleds up until this year have been carb sleds, and now that I have a pair of the 600 H.O. SDI Revs, I know I have to run synthetic through them. I was wondering what I should run? I have run Amsoil throguh all my other sleds, and was looking at AMSOIL INTERCEPTOR to run in these SDI sleds. Anyone have any good/bad experiences with it?
If you could let me know that would be great. Bombi oil is pretty dear in price, and the INTERCEPTOR is a decent price.
Thanks, and hope we see snow soon!!!

One more thing, I was also looking at the AMSOIL DOMINATOR, but my understanding is I don't need it unless I"m racing...Anyone else run either of these oils?
thanks!

Everyone I know with a RAVE or power valve setup on their sleds, or anyone who takes good care of their sleds even, all use interceptor. It's a great oil, just like everything that comes from Amsoil. I bought 4l of interceptor for my AC that has power valves and I run amsoil 5w30 in my trucks. I would run it for sure, it's AS good if not better than dealer synthetic so it won't hurt anything.

Any good synthetic will work. SnowTech rated Bombi oil #1, then Klotz, Interceptor, etc.

I run the interceptor oil in my rev and have had great luck with it. Just pulled my power valves off for cleaning last night and there was very little carbon buildup on them.

I don't think will help you because I think your from the US but for the rest of the guys from Canada I've been getting it from Canadian Tire. They sell it in the oil aisle near the engine oil and marine oil. It's about 9$ a L which works out to about 40$ a gallon. In comparison pricewise the Arctic Cat synthetic at the dealership was 50$ a gallon.

I only live 3 1/2 hours from Niagra Falls, Canada. Not that I'm gonna drive up there to buy oil I've never heard of AMSOIL till I got on this forum. Seems to be a great choice for you guys . If it burns cleaner I'd certainly like to try it.
I guess I never looked any further than my dealer cuz he is 1 mile down the road.

Usually you buy it from an independent dealer. There is a sponser on HCS who gives good discount & ships to your door!! My brother gets me mine for $80/case. Never seen/heard of it cheaper!

NAPA does sell it around here. I think it's $35 per gal.

Keep in mind that's from a dept store (only place to find it around here) and that's in Canadian dollars (plus the stuff is IMPORTED so that jacks prices too). In USD the 9$ per L works out to 7.97$ per L which is 31.88$ per gallon in USD. NOt too far off from your price.

tomacat,
The local distributor is in Lancaster, PA. If you call your local POC and become a perfered member ($20 per/year), you can call direct to Lancaster and they will mail it (about $27 per/gal). husky

Generally, what is to be expected on buying a gallon of Bombi? Amsoil is an oil thats easier to get a grasp on compared to any manufacturer oil. Klotz is even harder to find in Minnesota
