Synthetic oils

I was told that Polaris synthetic oil was bad to use and that I should be using an aftermarket brand?? I have been using Polaris oil since I bought the sled brand new, should I change or not??

Who told you it was bad to use?

Why would polaris sell an oil that is bad for their sleds?

The oil is good to use and specifically designed to run with your sled.

The sled on the other hand is one of the best US owned and manufactured sleds out there.

I heard it from a bunch of people who don't use oil from the dealer, mostly hear it from cat riders, they all use Amsoil, say its better for there power valves?? And the sled is just fine, must have got lucky with my purchase..

my buddy has a '02 xc 600 and he said the polaris vesII or whatever oil he was supposed to run is $10 more per gallon than amsoil interceptor. he also said he only has to clean his power valves half as often with the interceptor over the polaris oil.

Same with the Klotz I run, plus it smells like race fuel when it runs!

Polaris synthetic is good oil , but I would have to scrap and scrub my exhaust valves every 500 mile . I switch to Blue marble, Now I clean my valves every 1000 mile with a scotch brite pad and acetone (easy clean up) .

I thought I heard from some people on here that blue marble was bad? I could be wrong. I put interceptor in my sled

Yes! You need to keep your exhaust valves clean.
I check mine, every 500 miles.
Your exhaust valve collect carbon build up and oil residue.
They will start to stick and not open and close properly.
Since I switched to blue marble, I have minimum carbon build up,
only residue which I clean with a scotch pad and acetone.
