Do you know if the light is DC or AC compatible? Most LED's are exactly what they say, a light emiting diode, a diode only let's electricity run one way so you would need to have something converting the sleds AC to DC (recitfier bridge) in order to not blow the LED's, unless the led bar has a pre-built in one. I could be wrong on this but from what I've researched this is what I've found with batteryless sleds.

It should be that way yes =) most motors have a (recitfier bridge) ( that i hope is Likriktare in swedish ? ) a thing that converts AC do DC, then u might need a Spänningsregulator, that keep the voltage near 12.

The most led's are DC.. would be nice to find one with prebuilt (recitfier bridge).. Have never seen one like that though

I thought LEDS had to run off DC so i went and built a rectifer. Before I hooked it up I wired the lights to the sleds AC power in an extra plug jack and it worked just fine.
They were cheap "pod" type LEDs with 4 bulbs i got on ebay
I don't know why it works, and technically it shouldn't work but it does work.

simple, there are little tiny bolts that hold the pods to the tunnel and I wire loomed all the wires so you can't tell i added anything unless you really study it.

How did you get the picture of your sled with the leds on it. Once I know how to put it on I will put a picture of my sled with leds on it.

You need to have the images hosted on the web some place.
maybe someone else here can give you a site ( i run my own)
Then use the button and paste the url in there
or try this to get this site to host the file

Well, it's not diffucult to install leds on a snowmobile =) have also
thought about it. But u still feel that if u need to screw a whole.
That u ruin ur sled JUST a bit
On my old one i installed a "fake" neon light =)

I understand what you are saying about drilling holes. If the sled was a 2007 instead of a 1997 I wouldn't have done it.
The guy that recommended the LEDs to me mounted them in the same place on a rev w/ strong double sided tape and snuck the wires thru an existing hole.

hey dobbs did they fry your wiring or cause any problems? I was thinking about adding it to my arctic cat (green lights of course) One pod each side? Can you turn it off or is it always on? I'm just curious because I don't want to cause any electrical problems or anything Thanks...nice sled btw

No problems at all. LEDs draw so little it doesn't dim the headlight and nothing fried.
I forgot, i put a switch on the panel by the pull chord to turn them off.
