Need a new helmet for the Alien
It's a funny question, and I kinda hate to say it, but I got kind of a big head. "One size fits all" NEVER fits me. I'm not really sure, but I think my hat size would be 7 3/4, but I think I need to get re-measured to make sure. I sometimes convince myself that it's actually 7 3/8, but I think that's wishful thinking.
To top it off, my head's not really standard either. It's a big like the Alien, from the movies. Not so big side to side, but it's front to back that gets me.
So, the question is: Where does someone with this type of gigantic misshapen cranium get a decent snowmo helmet these days? I'm really loathe to buy things site unseen, because they never fit me right. Is there an online place that is good about returns, or maybe an online place that sells snowmobile helmets for aliens?
Yup. Just measured & looked it up on the internet. I'm probably kind of a tweener between 7 5/8 and 7 3/4.

Maybe go to a movie studio and get a mold done of your grape, and then have one custom made? Plus if you're an alien, can't you just put a force field around your bean? Seriously, go to a dealer and try a bunch on. I assume your size will be XXL, I'm 7 3/8 and it's an XL.

take a cloth tape measurer and measure your head above the eyebrows.
then i would go to a website like shadetreepowersports.com and look at the helmet size chart. Some 2XL's might be meant for 22" heads from some manufactuers, 2xl/3xl can vary up to about 2" (which is a lot).
an HJC 3xl might work, but go there, get an idea what brands will fit your measurements and plan to be on the high end since odd shape, then find dealers around u that carry those brands.

helmet sizes
Alright, I'll check that out on shadetreepowersports.com.
Since I'm in Jersey though, we don't have snowmobile dealerships around here, really. The only two I know of are about an hour away, one south (oddly enough) and one north. I assume snowmo helmets keep your head warm, so theyd be different from ATV helmets, but that's just an assumption. ATV dealerships are different -can't throw a stick around here without hitting one. Could I just go to an ATV dealer? There's a Honda place a couple towns over.
I've never ridden with a helmet before (probably shouldn't admit that). I have enough private property that when I did/do ride, I rarely need to venture out onto public property. This year though, I'm thinking I'll get a Rails To Trails pass, because I snuck out there a couple years ago and the trails are real fun. But, that means some lifestyle changes - sled insurance, helmets, working headlights and brake lights. Working brakes would probably be a plus, too.

if yoiu can stand riding without a helmet, ie, weather is mild enough, you could get a snow cross helmet.. like an atv helmet but with a tad more padding i think.. might be able to get from an atv dealer.
would need goggles and a good baclava then

If you find a helnet that fits, you can probably order one through the ATV dealer. They use the same suppliers, ie; Parts Unlimited. ect.

I'm sure they make helmets for waterheads!! Can you go to any motorsports dealer & try some on..........determine your size, then order on-line??
Me, I must be a pinhead, 7-1/4 or Large!
