Im kinda at a crossroad !

Well im kinda stumped guys im selling all my toys 2 sleds and an atv. to get a good sled, but i dont know what to get. i will have around 5800 to play with maybe 6000 if im lucky. I live in the southern part of wisconsin so the trails out here are ruff we are talking corn fields Big Ruts. Anyways i love the new phazer its nice and all but i do like to go fast. Im looking for somthing that has electric start and reverse. That has a good suspension to handle the trails out here they are pretty hairy at times. I love the Artic cat f-6 and F-7 neither have those options like reverse or electric start but i can live without electric start its the reverse i need. too many times have i strained my back pulling the sleds out of the garage, but then again im pulling on a 96 vmax that weighed alot. I could go with an 600 fusion not sure what that has. skidoo im gonna stay away from i know too many people who had those rev's and the engine goes on them. i want newer year like 04-05. or the 07phazer wich i can get out the door for 5895 but thats the base model so any help would be great.

phazer would be fun no doubt, but it definitely wouldn't be the fastest sled around. I would get one if I could afford it simply for boondocking around the property, but I doubt my wife would ride it so it would be impractical...
The fusions have elect start and reverse options but only get a 600 if you're leaning that way. I thought the firecats had elect start and reverse options??? Guess I never paid that much attention.
And I'm sure you're gonna get some flak for not wanting a rev. Quite a few guys on here have them and never had a problem. Oddly enough any good small engine mechanics I know prefer skidoos. (including SEG) Could just be a coincidence.

Ski doo! Seriously I would atleast look at them. I know quite a few people with the revs, and not a single one has even had a hicup. They would be in your price range too.

I probly will look at them but they are always priced very high and most i see for sale say engine just rebuilt i know that can be a good thing but it can also be bad. Ive never ridden the rev style sled not sure if i will like it i mean they are the #1 seller of sleds. LOL Like i should talk i got a Yami wich have the worst suspensions ever lol thats why i put an m10 in it.I kinda like the Sabercats they have what i want as far as reverse and electric start.

I HIGHLY suggest going to Snow Show in Milwaukee. That's where my boyfriend bought my sled last year. It was a leftover 2005 550 SuperSport. I think he paid about $3800 for it brand new, no trade-in. We only looked closely as Polarises, but there were TONS of booths/dealers there.

Here's what I got from a quick Google search:

Milwaukee, Wisconsin - Wisconsin Expostion Center at State Fair Park - October 20-22, 2006

Show is located at the Wisconsin Expositon Center.
200,000 sq. ft. of indoor exhibit space plus outdoor swap
Fri: 5pm-10pm; Sat: 10am-9 pm; Sun: 10am-4pm
$9.00 adults, children under 16 admitted free
Snowmobile Swap Meet Sat & Sun for private sellers to buy and sell unneeded snowmobile items. For swap space & info contact Ken Lang at 262-965-2067

The REV chassis is a great sled. The riding style is just like a motorcycle. You have to sit on one to know what I mean. NOw that they have the piston ring problem out of the way from 2004, they are unbeatable sleds.

I second the rev idea. I hear the ride is unbeatable.

i sat on my buddy's rev... didnt like it, i thought i would like it cause it would feel so much like my dirtbike, but i felt ike i was leaning way too far forward one on, the most comfortable sled i've sat on was my buddy's f7, i liked the fusion too, and on the fusion you have adjustable handlebar positions so you can pick what you like.

Sounds to me you'll have to go to a Snow Show and look/sit/and get the feel of what you might really want. I agree with the reverse issue, and mainly the suspension issue. But reliability should be an issue also. Maybe check consumers report, and see what they have to say on the sleds out there.

Nice! That should do what you want. I know the early Fusions had problems with vibration... has that been worked out now???

Cool beans!!! ENJOY the Fusion - I love my boyfriend's! Not to sound stupidly old here, but I think the Fusion really helped in NOT making my back worse. I think just because you sit up a bit higher, you're not slouching as much. All I know is that I didn't have the back pain when riding his Fusion (particularly on the stutter bumps trails developed after a long day) as I did riding my sled. And yes, the adjustable handlebar is a nice feature!

from what I understood it was mostly just a 900 issue, not the 600ho?

Well then they sure didn't get the same batch of Rev's that came to Manitoba, because I don't think there was one for 3 years that didn't have ring problems.
Check the want ads, 02,03, and 04 rev,s the used sled section is full of them and the prices are very low.

Well you will probably think that I'll say go buy that phazer cuz it is pretty bad ass. Although I'd wait a few years untill all the bugs and recalls are worked out of it. Pretty much all these sleds u mentioned are great. I think the bottom line is whats your favorite color when u buy a sled and who and what are you loyal to. The only sled I'd shy away from is the Poloaris conFUSION. j/k. but i have heard of a few problems with them. I know guys who ride F7's as a group and Fusions and the Fusions had the most problems with simply just falling apart. Good luck i hope soem of this helped. Not meaning anything bad about Polaris I'd like to see what that Dragon is gunna do.
