i was wondering what sites/catalogs you guys have had the best luck with when ordering aftermarket parts. Any input would be appreciated.

i ride a 97 XCR 600. i'd like to purchase a clutch kit and some pipes. kirk doesn't even sell pipes for it. there was an older thread i came across on this site where someone was selling some used slp pipes, but the last reply was like a month or so ago. i haven't really heard anything about slp either. are they descent? anyway, i'm just lookin for some other places to search for aftermarket clutch and exhaust components among a few other small things.

uh oh...you said the "p" word. Most users on the site are not big fans of aftermarket pipes. If you do a search on the issue you'll find multiple threads with some very heated debates.
But SLP is one of the best for aftermarket stuff IMO. Not the cheapest though, but they spend a lot of time tuning stuff for specific applications.

haha, i noticed alot of people are kind of against them, but i like to be heard. i probably wouldn't even mess with it, but 2 of my pipes have pretty large holes in 'em. i welded up one of them but the other isn't really weldable. in my opinion, if i'm gonna spend the money, i mizal buy somethin worth buyin. we'll see what happens tho i guess. at the moment it actually sounds like it's piped, lol.

Yes I'm all for pipes. But I have no state/local regulations or even homeowner or snowmobile assc. regulations that make modified exhaust systems illegal. And in all reality most of us up here ride where there's not a home within hearing distance so it's not become an issue up here...yet...
Up here you get funny looks if your sled is NOT piped. But if I lived where trails were paid for and maintained by snowmobile associations, and went across privately owned land that the owners graciously allowed the use of, I would probably think differently about the aftermarket pipes.

thanks for the thread triumph, and as for the pipe issue, if u don't like the heavenly sound of a piped sled, don't live by the trails. when u buy a house and/or land, you're aware or should be of nearby trails. the only thing that jerks me is when punks tear up fields and yards which are clearly marked as a nontrail. And for the legality of it, NWA quoted it best.

Hopefully they don't close the trails near your homes!
