How are the 98 SRX 600's?

The Renegade 600 price went up, so I'm not going to get it. Still considering the SRX though. People tell me that they are very fast. T

here is a 2000 MXZ 700 in the paper today for $4000 obo, so I might have to check that one out too....

But give some pros and cons for the SRX.

Thanks guys
J

the srx's are fast, but the 99 of my dad's just didn't ever feel right. It was a bit heavy. And just didn't handle as well as most sleds of same year. I usually opted for the '02 550 f/c trail rmk for a much more comfortable ride, even though it wasn't as beefy.

I'll keep the SRX in the back of my mind for now.

I'm going to look at the MXZ 700 tomorrow. Sounds like it could be a sweet deal. Quiet talking guy who says he hasn't used it for a few years and would rather have a touring machine. Says it has become an expensive lawn ornament . Has 3000km and is in, apparently, excellent condition. If it is as nice as he says I'll see if I can grab it for $3500 (or less).

I'm just a little concerned about fuel economy.... Do these 700's suck back a lot of fuel?

Well from my past experience i would say avoid the 600 twins. I had 2 98 mountain max 600s and would never get more than a couple weeks out of either motor...

Mind you they might not have liked the twin pipes all that much but they would blow up on me left right and center...

Then i sold both and bought the new doo!

I have an 800 triple, it does use some fuel, but no more than the SRX does. My friend has a 2003 SRX and I can keep up with it fuelwise. Triples is triples, man...

The tripples sound awesome but like SEG said, their typically not too easy on fuel.

That's why they just put bigger tanks on 'em!
