Dead sled value?

I've got a dead 97 summit 670, piped, ported with a decent 144x2" track. It had a ring sieze and one piston/cylnder are trash. Some guy put an add in the local paper looking for just such a sled running or not so I'm thinking if i get rid of it I'll have to buy something new this fall. Any idea what dead sleds are worth?

Something like that, probbly around $500, if the rest of the sled is good, and the one cylinder is the ONLY problem (didn't trash the bottom end, etc.)

It's worth whatever the other party is willing to pay. I'd ask $700, this gives you negotiating room, and lets the other guy think that he got a deal.

i got a running sled for 700 bucks. it didnt run too well, but it ran. a rolling chassis goes for 400 bucks here without the engine. i would agree 500 is a fair asking price cuz after he spends another 300 bucks for parts + labor, he has a running sled. one of my buddies buys dead sleds and throws an engine in them and he makes a bundle. profit wise he makes around 400 bucks a sled atleast.

you could get more money parting it out on ebay if you wait till winter...
