tryed to start was pushing fuel out of the side of the motor replaced upper gasket
when i pulled the motor apart the lower motor was full of fuel ordered new fuel pump figured it was just going past pump through vacuum hose

First, welcome. If the motor is full of fuel, there are 2 possibilities. First, the one you said. Second the carb inlet needles aren't sealing correctly, letting fuel by and filling the engine up. Remove and clean the carbs, and replace both inlet needles/seats. That should do it.

Hi gman; I'm new here as well, just bought a 98' formula 3 ski-doo and an MXZ-550f.. Fortunately mine don't seem to have any fuel related problems (except for me spilling gas on the seat).. I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas now.. No snow for months and two sleds in the workshop = torture

The 670 is a bulletproof motor. Very dependable. You should have very good luck with that sled.

good i was worried it was a shotty sled or poor motor but for 400 bucks and only 1100 miles probably shouldnt complain too much
as for being excited TIC got my sled and my elk tag the same week the only thing better is that i could afford gas for both adventures

Gman, where are you from...and what State did you get your elk tag? My husband and I are both avid hunters and can't wait to take a trip out West to hunt Elk...registration/lottery/app's from State to State out there are a nightmare to sift through...I was just curious where you got yours...

i have a 97 mxz 670 and had almolst had the same problem minus buying new fuel pumps etc...Is the sled backfiring when you try to start it. I had to replace the solenoid inside the starter that keeps the pistons firing at the correct time.when i tried to start it. it would kinda backfire and yank the pull cord back and yank your arm out of its socket as well. the solenoid is inside the starter cover? hope this helps!

I agree with Smallengineguy you can get manuals, good quality after market parts, and even schematics on Ebay.... there is a lot of crap on there too so read the descriptions well and ask questions before bidding! Also, if you don't find what you are looking for, Ebay can provide a number of good leads to people who either sell what your looking for or know where to get it! Good luck!
