What got you goin
What got you started ?
When I was about 4-5yo my dad had a TNT pretty identical to 72TNT's sled. He used to take me for rides all the time. Then when I was about 8yo he had this Johnson. It was red, white, and black. He used to let me drive that by myself. After a long pause, I finally bought my 1st sled( '69 Olympique) mainly for ice fishin, and huntin. Look at me now. Now I have a barcia lounger

Dad had a couple Rupp 440's and a yamaha 340 (enticer maybe?) He used to ride around the neighborhood with me in his lap to put me to sleep. When I was homeschooling he worked from 2pm-12pm so if I got up early and finished school we could go out before he went to work. Then came the 91 indy sport 340 gt and a year later a 440 for my mom. Then I upgraded to my grandpas skidoo (the 440 with the mechanical disappearing headlight) Then my parents bought 2 summit 583s the first year they were out and I got the 340. Had that till 2 years ago. I sold it because I lived in the middle of town and didn't think I would get to ride it much. Stupidest thing ever. That machine was a rock.(both figuratively and literally) I'm trying to track it down and buy it back for my kids. Anyway this sport holds a lot of memories of great things for me. And thats how I got started!

I started riding my old girlfriends sled. Then she wanted to get married so I dumped her. I guess she ended up marrying this guy from Howell and a couple of years later this guy and his neighbor bought new sleds.

In 1967, my dad got me a Bolens "Sprint 315", I rode it for 5 years. Then in '72, I got my first Polaris, a "Custom 400". Been riding just about everything else since. Currently riding Arctic Cat "Wildcat700efi" a '93 with upgrades.
Going back to the Bolens, I used to go out every night of the week and ride a tankfull (4hrs). It didn't matter what the weather was, even 20 to 30 below zero. During that time, I never got a cold or was sick in any way. Too bad we don't get those kinds of winters anymore.

My dad brought home a non running 67 Moto-Ski one day. It had an awesome flame job on it. I got the old Hirth 292 running and rode the track off that sled. The rest is history....

LMAO!! Locky, you never miss an opportunity!!
I got my first sled (80 MotoSki Mirage II) as a basket case; engine was in pieces, needed a crank bearing. I traded an old rusty POS van for that sled, a trailer, a micro-wave oven (still use it!) & some other stuff. Anyway, got the engine re-assembled & used it for a couple of years.....wasn't much, but it provided the bug that bit me!!

Well seeing I am still only 16, my storiy is pretty evident. Lets put it this way, I have so much respect for one our first sleds, that I felt it was only right to give back to it as it gave to us. And to show my dad we cared and to let him see a blast from the past with his sled, he had a 71 Olympique.

LMAO
my uncle had two sleds in his garage, gave them both to my father and i. the one i got was an 83 skidoo citation, however, i cant remember what my dad had...either way, after riding a season or two around the house, we decided to upgrade and get newer sleds (mostly to save our backs).

my family used to use a couple old ones to get around the farm, then we got an 88 cougar and that had great suspension(compared to what we were used to). then one of my friends got a zr580 and told us about this blown up mach1(mine), so we decided to buy it and fix it. and here i am now.

Unfortunatly, sledding was not a huge part of my childhood. Dad couldn't afford a boat AND a sled, and we got more use out of a boat so thats what we had. When I was 8, we inherited a 70's yamaha (can't remember the model). Had some fun on that. Then we got a 500cc everest, and that was like a cadillac compared to the yammie Sold them both about 2 years later, because we lived in town and hardly used them. Then we moved to gods country, and BBBBBBRRRRRRRAAAAAAPPPPP
