Which should I buy ?

Both models are 2006 from a rental company. Both sleds are $5000 delivered. Arctic Cat M-7 or Polaris 700 RMK 151 2.4in track? Or would you go with an older sled with less miles? Sleds have 3000 to 3500 miles.

I personaly would not buy a used sled from a rental company, because of the way they are usually riden. You have most likely heard the phrase, "Ride it like a rental" In my area this is the norm. The sleds may look in good shape but have had a hard life. I would look around a little , you should be able to find a good private owned sled in that price range. JM$.02

Sounds like reasonable advice, buddyThat's a lot of hard miles in one season.Heck of a break in period.I rented a sled the first time I went sleddin' in Canada and I wouldn't buy it .Like the sayin' goes^^^..........
I kept looking and found a two year old new sled with no miles on it for half price. This would be the right time of year to find a kind of deal like that.

Just so you know, Polaris is not making that 700 motor next year, they are bringing out a new one again. The '06 700 was built off of the 900 that isn't being made either,so what's that tell you. Didn't hear a whole lot on the 700 this year because their 600 made such a huge splash, but when I drove the 700 there was some vibration coming from the motor that I didn't care for,but on a mountain sled it might not be such a big deal like a trail sled.

Thank you for the input. What time of the year is the best time to buy a sled?

There are usually good deals on sleds in the fall and spring tme. But either time I would suggest that you have snow there to try it out, so you don't get a surprise when you try it for the first time.

Some guy who says he works for Polaris will sell me a 900 RMK for $4700 with warranty. Less than 2000 miles. Sound like a deal?

Yea that sounds like a good deal. The 900 usually do have vibration issues so your gunna want to bring it to the dealer and get the upgrades done to it

I would think that the recall's would dampen it a bit but I can't talk from experience.

there is nothing wrong with the 900RMK's once you have had the upgrades.

Something with the motor mounts. There is also upgrades on the fuel mapping system to increase economy and performance.
