New to the sport. Have questions about open water sledding. What type of track is best for water (long track vs short track, wide vs narrow). Which tread is better for water. I assume a long wide track with longer tread is best but not sure. Looking to hear from folks who have done it.
Also curious to know the approximate weight difference between a 4 stroke sled vs a 2 stroke (similar HP versions-800 cc 2 stroke vs a 1000cc 4 stroke).
Welcome!
First a 121 X 1.25 will work great!
As for the 2 stroke vs NO DON'T!
A 4 stroke will completely be destroyed in water!
It can't take water ingestion it will hydro lock and bend a rod!
I would also suggest getting a waverunner. Getting a sunken sled out it difficult, and if it was running when it went in, you have good possibility for bent or broken rods.
About the same as on wet snow.
A 340 will run 50mph! A 600 will do almost 90 and a 1000 well over 100!
