BV2S helmets

Hey guys just wanted some input on the bV2S helmets do they really solve most helmet issues? do you need to have the heated shield? they are a lot of $$ but it seems like it may be worth it if all is true..............

I'd definitely buy one if I could afford it. They do not need a heated shield.

I would definately consider one if I had the money. They're the cutting edge of helmet technology.

I own one for cold days, open face for warmer days. The BVS2 helmet works well, but had some frosting up of faceshield last weekend in 16 below temp, not too bad though. Should have maybe changed the rubber baffle in it. Two different baffles= one for above 10 degrees and one for below 10 degrees I believe. I had the warmer one in which may have left alittle more cold air in. All in all decent helmet, but I get too warm in it.

I lOVE mine. should not get silver though. paint is wearing off in places. other than that no problems. never fogged and very warm...........almost too warm on hot days. I put the blue tint in it and I like that better than the orange it comes with. worth every penny IMHO. can you really put a price on your skull? LOL

I looked at the BV2S earlier Ski - Doo modular helmet and the NEW POLARIS helmet. Iwent witht he older SKI_DOO helmet of modular design. The main reason was price. I paid $169 and the BV2S cost $275. I could not justify the price difference. I talked to several dealers and most people prefer the older modular design fit. You can get a heated shield for $120 for the modular or BV2S. Personally I wax the face shield to minimize fogging. Plus when you first ride leave the shield cracked open to get out the moisture and equalize the temperature on the shield. It should minimize/eliminate the fogging once you are riding.

It is a great helmet but never leave it outside or in the car overnight. It has two panes of plastic and when you leave it out it fogs up VERY easy. I learned the hardway and ruined a ride but ever since then I haven't had a problem. Also, change the rubber thing if it is below 10/15 outside. I rode this past weekend in -0 weather and it was great. It seals nicely and is great. I just bought my gf one of the older designed modular helmets and while it has pluses I wouldn't want to keep snapping the mouth part if I wanted to talk. IMO spend the extra money and you won't regret it. I went the cheap way and after one issue switched...

With either of the 2 Skidoo modular helmets you shouldn't have to use a heated shield. As good as they both worked for me I can't understand why you would still need heated shields. All of you air should leave your helmet, not causing it to fog up! I just would do anything possible not to have a wire hanging from my head all day, seems like trouble to me.

I have the Bombardia modular and love it. The onnly time it fors is when I get very warm and it fors from my heat. Just crack open the sheild untill you get going again and cool off a little and it's "no prob".
