You're engine is not gripping the mat????

You're engine is bolted to the motor mounts which are part of the frame!

Are you talking about your drive belt???
It's hard to diagnose when your english isn't too clear! Can you give us anything else?

Maybe the motor mount is broken? Can you take a picture and post it? That would help people visualize what you are trying to describe...

GOTCHA!!!! It's your track tension! Your track (not your mat, well I guess you can call it your mat) is too loose and the drive shaft is skipping over the drive cogs on the inside of the track! There should be two adjustment bolts (one on each side) at the back of the sled pushing on the rear bogie shaft. Tighten these bolts until the track is tightened to manufacturers specs. I think it's roughly an inch between the slider and track with 15lbs on the track. After that is done spin the track and make sure it is alligned by looking at the outer cogs compared to the sliders. If one side is closer than tighten that side or loosen the other side (either one will work). If you don't know what I'm talking about I would be happy to take some pics explaining things!

Well there is still a possibility that it is your chain, if something happened with your chain tensioner! But it's most likely your track. The chain skipping will be a loud sharp snapping sound coming from under the hood. The track ratchetting (skipping) will be a loud thunk coming from right underneith you. Here's some pics of the drive cogs and adjustment bolts. Hopefully this will help you learn a little bit about your sled!

This is the drive shaft! It is skipping over the drive cogs.

Here are the drive cogs on the inside of the track that the drive shaft hooks on to in order to move the sled.

Here's the rear bogie shaft that you will have to loosen in order to adjust the track tension (remember to tighten it again when you're done). It slides back and forth making the track tighter or looser.

This is the adjustment bolt. There is one on each side. When you tighten the bolt it pushes the rear bogie wheels against the track making it tighter, you also use these bolts to adjust the allignment of the track.

This is the space between the slider shoe, and the outer drive cogs. This space should be the same on both sides of the track. After making an adjustment to the bolts, spin the track a little and re-check the gaps until they are both the same. Remember that these pics wont be identical to your sled considering the different manufacturers and difference in model and year, but it's the same principals.

Correct. Just tighten the track. Be sure to check the tension after doing high speed runs on the ice as there is little snow to help cool the track and limit the amount of stretching that occures.

Well, I'm assuming my dad has never messed with it. I'm going to check it all out over the summer. But until then, let's hope I don't break anything.
