Newbie looking for advice

Just getting into snowmobiling and I'm looking for a sled that will really blow my socks off. Despite the crappy winter up here, there are still some areas with some good groomed trails. I'm not entirely new with snowmobiles so I'm well aware of how they handle, but just not as experienced in knowing what is the most reliable anymore.

Just looking for input on the reliability of high performance groomed trail sleds. Any companies to stay away from?

Other things to consider:

Two strokes vs. four strokes? I know four stroke engines are more efficient in getting more power per amount of fuel, thus giving them better fuel mileage, but also being a lot heavier. Cost really isn't an issue, so I am leaning towards a four stroke engine, but I am not saying I will not consider a worthwhile two stroker.

Too many sleds nowadays to choose from...

If you want a fast four stroke you have to watch yourself. Cat has an 1100cc monster that only puts out 120 horses, while Yamaha has a 1000 that'll put out 150. Rotax 2 strokes with SDI have decent fuel consumption and emissions also, so you might want to look into those. I think the title of fastest stock sled belongs to the Mach Z.

Sleds like the MXZ or F7 would not go as fast as some of the other machines, but would handle rough stuff better.

if you want a good trail sled, and money is no issue, then you cant go wrong with a 4-stroke. They are a bit heavy but if all you want to do is trail ride then that dont matter anyway.
