What are Reeds ?

Where do they go ? It says the increase power throughout the power band but how do they work ? Are they worth the money ? Any side effects from installing them ?

Reeds control air flow. They are between the carb boots and the jugs. You can get better performance.

Are there NO parts for the 583 motor ? I cannot find reeds for it, I search ski-doo reeds and alot of them are for the 600 engine.

Your sled doesn't have reeds. Don't try to find them for a 670 either. These engines both have rotary valves. I know guys used to cut the valves, but I wouldn't recomend it.

I'm in the Ilion Snowdrifters. I usually ride Herkimer, Oneida and Madison counties, mostly south of the Thruway. I'll go up to Tug Hill once or twice a year too.

you can buy rotary valves that have different opening and closing values, but i don't think that it does much good without supporting mods.
