I went riding once with my neighbor and a bunch of his friends. One of them had an arctic cat with no flap and he was in front of me the whole day, at the end of the day I wanted to punch him in the face. Every time we got to a field he would open it up and spit a ton of crap at me so i couldn't see. I would strongly reccommend leaving it on.

my friend with his brand new REV renegade took his flap off, thought it was just the greatest thing since sliced bread, i was ready to tackle him right off his sled when he stopped, throwing pop tarts at me for a couple miles...wasnt good..i would rather people leave it on, that i ride with anyways....

It's a safety issue.

Safety for the ones that are behind you.

It also helps with cooling, without the snowflap snow is thrown out the back instead of up into the heat exchanger. I don't think it is illegal but it's a good idea to keep it on.

Like on my Apex I had issues with keeping things cool underneath even with the snowflap,it was too short,so I added 6" to the flap and now the snow stays underneath to keep it cool!

I thought I read somewhere that they were illegal in NH to have missing. It would suck to get hit by flying debris from a spinning track.

The manufacturers put them on for a reason. The same reason that they put flaps on semis. I would get pretty PO'd if I were to come up on someone that didn't have a snowflap on there sled. I would prolly run 'em off the trail
